Jeff Chaz has traveled and played the Blues for many years! Originally from Creole, Louisiana, his travels finally brought him to the Home of the Blues, Memphis, Tennessee, where the favorite music of his formative years began. While in Memphis, Jeff won the first Beale Street Blues Society award, and played many festivals in the area.

For a short time he toured playing guitar with Rock n' Roll great, Jerry Lee Lewis, and with the Blues Master, the late, great, Albert King, with whom he gigged briefly playing trombone in the horn section. According to Jeff, "Working with Albert greatly influenced my style, especially my string bending. He was the wildest at that I've ever seen, and a terrific vocalist. As far as entertaining, Jerry Lee taught me not to be afraid to do anything!"

Jeff moved back to New Orleans in 1997. "The Louisiana dirt was calling me back" he states.

Jeff's unique style of Blues incorporates the style of Memphis combined with the mixture of New Orleans rhythms. "It is Memphis barbecue meeting up with New Orleans gumbo," quips Chaz.

To All My Loyal Fans And New International Fans

Although in the past for many years I performed on Bourbon Street here
in New Orleans, and have been referred to as the Bourbon Street Bluesman,
I haven't performed there in years. When I do perform in the area I perform on Frenchmen St now, where most of the real New Orleans Jazz, and Blues Music in New Orleans can be found now. Most recently I have been performing the late show at Vaso on Frenchmen Street every Wednesday Night 10:00pm-1:00am.
I have been a blues musician for most of my life. Although I learned to play the blues in Memphis , and am even been compared to Albert King, I am very proud to be referred to as a New Orleans Blues Guitarist. I actually played for a short time and toured with Albert King as part of his band, and I am a true New Orleans Blues Guitarist as I mix the true blues of Memphis with the funky rhythms of New Orleans.
I also have been a blues music producer for many years now, and am available for production services.
